Further Flyer Development

Out of all of the elements/packaging designs that I have created for the exhibition, the flyer design needs the most developing at the moment. In particular, the front of the flyer needs more developing than the back- the back just aims to look like the back of a package which just contains the key ingredient and nutrition information, along with elements such as barcodes and relevant icons. The front of a package is typically more design heavy.

Additionally, after creating more developed designs for the flyer which focuses on a crisp packet, one of the initial designs still worked better than the developed versions, which peers also agreed with. Below shows the design.

Additionally, the issue with the crisp packet flyer designs was that they didn't really look much like a crisp packet- Annie and Jess also mentioned this. However, I knew that using a crisp packet within the document page wouldn't really look right as I briefly tried it out, so I asked peers on how they think I could make the flyer look more like a packet.

The most useful comment was to just not use a crisp packet for the flyer design as it doesn't really link with the other designs (carton and chocolate bar packaging) which focus more on solid rectangle shaped packages whereas a crisp packet focuses on a foiled, flimsy packet. I did some research into more food packaging that would work better and developed designs which use a juice carton instead of a crisp packet.

The juice carton works a lot better as it ties in with the other packaging designs more and also looks a lot more interesting and like an actual juice carton. I was able to use the original design that works best as it fitted in with the shape of the juice carton and worked, with some slight tweaking.
