I have gathered some research on chocolate packaging design that I found interesting as each elements needs to look funky and different whilst still maintaining a overall consistent aesthetic. These designs that I found each follow different layouts to make certain elements stand out more against others, some are more illustration based whilst some are more typography based.
For my designs I want to focus more on typography on the chocolate bar, as the chocolate is already and illustration. Also, these adverts will focus heavily on the copy write so typography is really important.
Below shoes the copy write initial ideas from Annie. At the moment the copy write is 'We've been providing the best opportunities for our students since 1846. A generation of new thinking, hard working creatives are ready to show case their freshly squeezed talent. Proud of every hand-crafted, mark and carving its time for our creatives to tell their story' This still needs a bit of work and is quite long, Annie said she will aim to have a final copy write by tomorrow.
Publication advert designs developed for initial ideas:
Below shows the most developed design so far. The advert shows illustration of the front and back as the back contains the main information, whereas the front is more illustration based, showing the actual chocolate so it is obvious what the packaging is for. The back contains the copy write along side the creative ingredient information that is also used on the poster, brick folly and flyer designs.
I will continue to develop the publication adverts further after discussing with Jess and Annie.
