I felt that the first page of the book needed to be something different from the double page spreads in order to separate it and to give the reader a brief idea of how the book would work before going straight in. The first page simply displays both English and Arabic alphabets in order, as the book is based on both languages, the reader can see this straight away without confusion when reading further.
The colours would follow the same rules as the pages; the English alphabet foiled in gold, with the Arabic alphabet foiled in red. Additionally, the first page sticks with the theme of being able to read the book in both English (left to right) and Arabic (right to left), by flipping the book upside down. I think the minimal aesthetic of the first page looks effective and gets straight to the point without looking boring.
